Sandie is an Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families, alongside previous experience supporting adults across physical and mental health settings. Sandie is registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Sandie is passionate about helping children build the skills they need to participate more confidently and independently in everyday life. Her areas of special interest include supporting children with fine motor and visual-motor skills that impact school readiness and participation, as well as developing functional daily living skills such as dressing, toileting, and feeding, and supporting children who experience challenges with regulation. She works collaboratively with children and families to better understand each child's unique needs and to develop practical strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines using a child-centred, responsive approach.

Play is an important part of Sandie's approach to therapy. She believes that children learn best when they are engaged, motivated, and having fun. Play provides a natural opportunity for children to practise and develop skills such as fine motor coordination, problem-solving, communication, social participation, regulation, and motor planning. By embedding therapeutic goals into meaningful and enjoyable activities, Sandie aims to make therapy feel natural and relevant to each child's everyday life.

Personal

When Sandie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and making the most of the outdoors. She particularly enjoys gardening, kayaking, and getting outside to explore and enjoy nature.
